Can Taste Blood When I Cough

Laurieton

Laurenzana

are heard by
cliffs and steep mountains
my mind so
climbs up in these mountains
pursuing only what my mind
can draw.

Now here, the moment you stop
between birdsong and silence on the thorns that can speak.
A cock in the valley
beats a rhythm that only I can give my land.

And I, young and darkness, body and mind can only contemplate

the immense beauty of nature
now my eyes can see.
